There is great value in being multi-faceted.

I’ve been working hard of late for the Brooks-Range Mountaineering Equipment Company. Brooks-Range is a top-of-the line in quality equipment retailer, and I’ve been working on making sure more and more people know it. I’ve also been focused on increasing the ease of use for their site, and I’m hoping that we can re-launch the site before the end of the year. We’ve found a laser-focused e-commerce specialized web-design company that has some great ideas and works fast! Look for the new Brooks-Range Mountaineering store to launch later this year.

Working as a subcontractor through b2 Consulting, I today completed and uploaded a site redesign for Bay Area Mediation Services. The company had a designer that put together a site for them and slapped it up on their website without getting full approval. I was brought in to reformat the site for readability, accuracy, and ease of editing moving forward.

I ended up rebuilding the site in XHTML 1.1 with a crispy CSS shell, rebuilding the header to utilize the Bay Bridge, including a background that added visual interest to that part of the page that was outside the content constraint, fixing some font issues with the original logo design, and bringing in an interesting navigation menu that utilized a more personal means of seeing the mediators.
